Instagram is always filled with smokey eye tutorials that look incredibly effective and so so beautiful, but do we honestly have that much time every morning…or even have the energy?
So here is a quick guide to getting an easy, day time smokey eye that can be done in just one simple minute.
Using shades of black, greys and silver metallics are what gives the smokey look its signature style, but for many girls, it is just too intense for a day at the office.
With this look, I will be focusing on a toned down version, using shades of brown, taupe, beige and, of course, a little sparkle, using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette ($54; Nordstrom).
Step 1:
First, coat your whole eye in Foxy to give a good clean base, then use Booty Call on the inner corner of your eye to give a brightening effect.
Step 2:
With a simple flat eye shadow brush, cover your lid in YDK, this is metallic, so dab it on thick by pressing the brush against your lid, rather than sweeping it across.
Step 3:
Use a thin brush and in the crease of your lid, apply Busted. Try to make it quite dark so you can see it defined. Then with the brush, draw a rough semi-circle from the middle of the crease to the other corner of your eye, giving it a slight arch at the top of the circle. This will look very rough and messy, but don’t worry, it won’t be for long.
Step 4:
Now, using a blending brush, sweep over the semi-circle you just made. Go from side to side and use a heavy hand.
Step 5:
With a black felt liner, draw a line from the inner to the outer corner, thickening it slightly in the middle. Now apply a few coats of mascara and you are good to go!
What is your go to for a simple but stylish eye look?
